This session is an overview of ongoing efforts to develop and implement a course quality scorecard to overhaul and modernize online courses. We are collaborating with program departments to bring attention to major quality areas like assessment, accessibility and interaction. Doing this allows us to identify possible shortcomings and calculate the amount of work needed to make improvements.
The scorecard pulls in data from student evaluations and it is also accompanied by an easy to use Scorecard Guide. The Guide contextualizes the rating criteria and builds familiarity with instructional design, accessibility, and instructional technology. The goal is to make sure that our courses meet current standards as well as have a solid foundation for further improvements.
