UCLA Mobile is launching freely available public push/text/email UCLA Mobile messaging channels for official UCLA organizations this summer, including campus departments, official staff, faculty and student organizations.  The link to request a channel is available at https://msg.apps.ucla.edu.  The process to request or suggest a channel is behind UCLA shibboleth login, and will be reviewed for approval by a sub-committee of the UCLA Mobile Steering Committee.  Once approved, the channel will be created and the requestor will be trained and given permission to send messages.

UCLA Mobile channels can be subscribed to by anyone using the UCLA Mobile app.  In addition, users who do not have a smart phone can subscribe to these channels via the web.  This session will include a LIVE messaging demo, share messaging best practices and go over how users are leveraging messaging for campus communications.  Private channels are not yet available, but may be coming in the future, based upon demand.
